Texas Wesleyan University, Fort Worth, Tex., 1965; teacher; business owner; member of the Fort Worth, Tex., zoning commission, 1981-1989; member of the Fort Worth, Tex., city council, 1989-1991; mayor of Fort Worth, Tex., 1991-1995; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fifth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1997-present).
